On June 15, the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) hosted the graduation ceremony for the inaugural class of its prestigious "Shanyi Class", along with a welcome session for the Class of 2024's new advisors.
Academicians Du Shanyi, Han Jiecai, and Leng Jingsong attended the event, presenting tassels, certificates, and books to the 22 graduating undergraduates of the first Shanyi Class and holding face-to-face discussions with the students.
Established in 2021, the Shanyi Class has a training philosophy centered on cultivating a strong sense of mission and responsibility—"great virtue for national rejuvenation, great righteousness for excellence and accountability". The program features interdisciplinary integration in aerospace, mechanics, and materials, and aims to develop future leaders in aerospace.
Du Shanyi, drawing on his personal journey and 61-year career at HIT, shared insights to guide students in their future growth.
President Han Jiecai congratulated the graduates on completing their undergraduate studies and embarking on new paths. He emphasized HIT's commitment to refining talent development models in the intelligent era and pledged to continue providing top-tier educational resources and expansive development opportunities to foster outstanding talents for the new era.
Representatives of the 2021 and 2024 Shanyi Class students also reported on class development.
