From Aug 5 to 6, Chen Jie, Chair of the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Council, led a delegation to Macao.
During the visit, Chen met Ao Ieong U, secretary for Social Affairs and Culture at the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, and visited the University of Macau and the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST).

HIT and MUST signed a cooperation and exchange agreement, while HIT's Space Environment Simulation Research Infrastructure (SESRI) and MUST's Macau Institute of Space Technology and Application inked a collaboration pact.
Chen stressed that "youth are the future of the nation" and that deepening educational cooperation and youth exchanges between HIT and Macao universities is of great significance. He called for enhanced sharing of academic resources, stronger cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and greater contributions to the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and national development.
Ao Ieong U expressed hopes to work closely with HIT to improve youth exchange mechanisms, innovate education models, and cultivate top-tier talent with both a global vision and national commitment.
Chen also noted that HIT and the University of Macau have built a strong foundation for collaboration and urged further joint efforts in humanities, management, and smart cities to create major innovation platforms and deliver research achievements.

He highlighted MUST's strengths in space technology and AI, hoping to expand cooperation in aerospace, deep space exploration, and related fields, and advance talent training and joint research.
The delegation also toured the University of Macau's exhibition halls, the State Key Laboratory for Internet of Things for Smart City, the State Key Laboratory of Lunar and Planetary Sciences, the Data Center for Science and Application of Macao Satellites, and the "Global Mapping of Macao" and "Light of Science, Dream of Space" exhibitions.
