Academician Ren Nanqi and Professor Wei Liangliang from the School of Environment at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) recently conducted specialized training in Mongolia at the invitation of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). After the training, they received a letter of appreciation from Enkhtsetseg Shagdarsuren, a UN-Habitat official in Mongolia.
This training was one of the significant sessions organized by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), focusing on Green Flood Control Infrastructure and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems.
Over the three-day training, experts provided comprehensive lectures on topics such as the construction of "sponge cities", drainage and flood prevention, and sustainable water system development. They presented detailed demonstrations of the design, implementation, construction, operation, and maintenance of green flood control infrastructure, drawing on relevant cases from China. They also offered constructive suggestions for future engineering projects and standards in Mongolia.
