Nearly 400 outstanding young scholars from renowned universities and research institutions worldwide gathered at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) to participate in the 13th Shenzhou Forum for Elite Young Scholars from Dec 20 to 21.
The main forum adopted a combination of online and offline formats, with a live stream for the Weihai and Shenzhen campuses, as well as the research institutes in Zhengzhou, Chongqing, and Suzhou for the first time.

President Han Jiecai delivered a video address, in which he introduced the university's overall strategic plan, the innovative development of its diverse talent evaluation system, the institution's longstanding traditions, and the comprehensive support it provides for the growth of young faculty members.

Vice President Liu Jian delivered a keynote address, outlining the university's history and educational characteristics. He also discussed the platforms available to young talents, along with the university's support services and latest talent policies.

National-level young talents, Professor Tan Peng from the School of Physics, and Professor Wu Yangyang from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, shared their achievements in frontier technology fields and their journey in choosing HIT.

Wang Ruigang, a PhD from the University of Sydney in Australia and Li Jiaxin, a PhD from the National University of Singapore shared their impressions and experiences of HIT and expressed their willingness to join HIT for scientific research.

Following the main forum, young scholars visited the HIT Museum, Gongda Jiayuan, and the Space Environment Simulation Research Infrastructure to learn about the university's history, achievements, and the support and research platforms available to young talents. In addition to the main forum, various colleges, schools, campuses, and research institutes held sub-forum academic exchange activities.
