Wang Yiwa is a 2023 undergraduate student from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT).
Born and raised in Harbin, Wang has been playing on ice since she was six. Today, she is not only a top curling athlete but also a trailblazer in combining sports, technology and global governance.
At HIT, Wang collaborated with engineering students in using 3D laser scanning to measure the surface of curling rinks and helped develop the digital curling platform with the help of artificial intelligence. She works across disciplines to bring innovation to the sport she loves.
In September 2025, she and her partners founded the International University Curling AI Society. Expanding the global influence of curling through technology is her next goal.
