Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Party Secretary Chen Jie, along with university leaders Sun Xue, Fan Feng, Liu Ting, Shuai Yong, Liu Jian, Wu Ligang, Gao Haibo, and Tan Yiqiu, led heads of relevant departments to visit and extend their Chinese New Year's greetings to the members of staff on duty during Chinese New Year's Eve on Feb 16, presenting them with various gifts.
They also joined those students staying on campus over the holiday to participate in a garden party and Chinese New Year's Eve dinner. The festive atmosphere was palpable at the former, where various traditional cultural activities attracted many students.
The university leaders engaged with the students in making handicrafts, wrapping dumplings, and having heartwarming conversations, showing concern for their holiday plans and daily needs. This made the students feel the warmth of home.
"Even though you cannot return home for Chinese New Year, Harbin Institute of Technology will always be your warm harbor and shared home, standing by your side forever."
For the Chinese New Year's Eve dinner, the university prepared 106 delicious dishes and a multi-layered cake symbolizing reunion and happiness, allowing students from all over the country to savor the taste of home.
Chinese and international students also performed programs such as poetry recitals and chorus singing, making the atmosphere even more lively.
In the year ahead, HIT faculty and students will carry forward this spirit of togetherness and strength, marching forward with hope and promise!
