To promote a spirit of "dedication, friendship, mutual aid and progress", as well as provide more opportunities for rural children, the Hi-Torch international student volunteer service team from the College of International Education at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) recently collaborated with the Wings of Love youth volunteer association from HIT's College of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry.
Together, they arranged for a group of Chinese and international student volunteers to deliver a chemistry-themed educational workshop at the Harbin Happiness Center Primary School.
During the session, volunteer instructors demonstrated two interactive experiments: Colorful Bubbling Paint and Tea-Water to Ink Transformation.
While guiding students through hands-on activities, volunteers from diverse countries shared their cultural backgrounds. The activities sparked the children's interest in science while exposing them to the richness of global traditions.
