The eighth Jet Propulsion Championship, organized by Lomonosov Moscow State University, was recently held at the Aerospace Skydiving Training Center in eastern Moscow.
This was the first time the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) was invited to participate. A total of 41 teams took part in the five-day event.
In 2024, the Jet Propulsion Championship received Russia's Loyalty to Science Award. The competition has become a major nationwide event focused on developing students' engineering design and practical skills while encouraging them to take an interest in aerospace and rocket engineering.
The competition consisted of nine divisions, each with its own mission requirements. Every team was required to complete two official rocket launches, undergo technical evaluations by expert panels before each launch, and deliver a final team presentation. Rankings were determined based on the teams' combined scores across all stages of the competition.
HIT sent a team of 11 undergraduate students to this year's competition. Throughout the event, the students worked together to refine the rocket's structural components and control systems, ensuring the rocket was fully prepared before launch, and ultimately received the grand prize.
