The opening ceremony of the International Training Course on New Energy Technologies and Innovation Upgrading, jointly organized by the School of Energy Science and Engineering and the College of International Education at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), was held in Conference Room J312 of the Energy Saving Building on May 18.
This course is supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology and China’s Developing Country Technical Training Program. It aims to promote the global energy transition, strengthen South-South cooperation, and build a comprehensive, multi-level, and multi-dimensional international cooperation framework for new energy technologies.
The course focuses on China's mature technologies and rich practical experience in photovoltaic technology, hydropower, and energy storage systems. Key topics include high-efficiency module manufacturing processes, intelligent operation and maintenance management systems, and grid integration technologies.
The program is designed to help countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to cultivate homegrown professional technical talents and establish independent and controllable new energy technology and industrial systems.
The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Han Lei from the School of Energy Science and Engineering. Professor Qi Hong, vice-dean of the school, delivered the welcoming. Dean Zhao Yixiao of the College of International Education subsequently addressed the audience. Professor Han gave an introduction about the School of Energy Science and Engineering, while Associate Professor Li Lifeng, the teacher representative, also delivered a speech.
Participating trainees from countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, Ghana, and Ethiopia introduced themselves, followed by a Q&A and discussion session on topics such as the development of new energy technology and course arrangements.
The training course is running for two weeks from May 18 to June 1. It has enrolled 20 technical professionals from universities and enterprises in various countries.
HIT will continue to leverage its strengths in scientific research and education in the field of new energy. It will also deepen international exchanges and cooperation, and contribute Chinese wisdom and strength to the sustainable development of global energy.
