Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) held the 2026 Commencement and Degree Awarding Ceremony on June 21, bidding farewell to 7,212 undergraduate graduates, 4,702 master's graduates, and 652 doctoral graduates from its three campuses.
The university's official multimedia platforms simultaneously livestreamed the event, attracting nearly 2 million views.

Sergey Mikushev, vice-rector of Saint Petersburg State University, said this year marks the launch of the China-Russia Year of Education. The joint educational program between Saint Petersburg State University and HIT is one of the largest and most innovative flagship projects in educational cooperation between the two countries, serving as a vivid portrayal of their increasingly close educational, cultural, and scientific ties.
He encouraged students to persist in learning, improve their research literacy and professional capabilities, bravely engage in scientific research projects, put innovative ideas into practice, and contribute to science, industry, and social development.

The ceremony also welcomed a group of special guests: more than 160 principals and teachers from key high schools across the country, many of which were the alma maters of the graduates. Additionally, over 400 high school students from across the country were invited to attend the ceremony.
