Twenty-two outstanding undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students from a wide range of disciplines shared their reflections on the three topics. They expressed gratitude for the education and other opportunities they received at HIT, offered their best wishes for the university's future, and drew on their own experiences and observations to make suggestions for continued improvement.
Focusing on HIT's goal of becoming one of the world's leading universities and promoting excellence across all aspects of university development, the students proposed ideas in areas including strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration, expanding international engagement, enriching academic and cultural life on campus, preserving HIT's traditions while fostering a culture of pioneering, improving experiential learning opportunities, and enhancing campus services and support systems.

During the discussion, Chen and Han responded to the questions and concerns raised by the students and outlined the university's future plans in relevant areas. They noted that every step forward HIT has taken in recent years has depended on the hard work, dedication, and achievements of its students. The university leadership, they said, will continue to put students and faculty first. Taking the campaign on establishing and practicing a correct view of political achievements as an opportunity, the university will seek input from the university community, listen to concerns and suggestions, respond to emerging needs, and address issues that matter the most to faculty and students.
Chen shared three hopes for the graduating Class of 2026. First, he encouraged students to develop greater self-confidence. Second, he encouraged graduates to maintain a lifelong commitment to excellence through a strong sense of purpose. Third, he urged them to cultivate a broad outlook and become the best versions of themselves.

Han noted that in recent years HIT has never deviated from its commitment to providing students with the best education, helping to develop their character, serving national priorities, and supporting students' personal and professional growth. By strengthening the allocation of educational resources and expanding opportunities for development, the university has helped many students grow into highly capable professionals, researchers, and future leaders fully prepared to contribute to the country's development as well as to emerging fields of innovation.
The university will continue pursuing its talent-development goals for the new era through deeper reform, innovation, and a sustained commitment to excellence. It plans to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration by breaking down barriers between fields; expand strategic partnerships with leading universities, research institutions, and industry leaders in China and around the world; create more open and inclusive approaches to campus governance; enhance public cultural spaces; and foster greater collaboration among students, faculty, and administrators.
These efforts, Han said, will provide students with even stronger facilities, resources, support systems, skills, and opportunities for development, helping them build professional expertise, cultivate a strong character, and strengthen their capacity for independent growth and leadership.
Han also encouraged faculty and students to play a more active role in shaping the university's future, explore new approaches to talent development in the age of artificial intelligence, and contribute their ideas and expertise as HIT continues its rise among the world's leading universities.
