Chen Jie, Party secretary of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), received the Asian Control Association (ACA) Fellow Award – one of the highest honors conferred by ACA at the award ceremony of the 15th Asian Control Conference in Indonesia held on June 19.
The award was presented by Sam Ge, president of ACA and a fellow of the Singapore Academy of Engineering, in recognition of Chen's outstanding scholarly achievements in control science and engineering and his exceptional contributions to advancing the field across Asia, Oceania, and the broader international community.

The ACA Fellow Award is the highest distinction in control science and engineering across Asia and Oceania. Presented biennially, it honors researchers who have made outstanding contributions as scientists, technology innovators, or educators in the fields of control, automation, artificial intelligence, robotics, and systems engineering.
Chen was among 17 internationally renowned researchers selected for this year's honor. Other recipients include former International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) presidents Frank Allgower and Hajime Asama, current IFAC President Dong-il Dan Cho, members of the US National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Tamer Başar, Stephen Boyd, and P. R. Kumar, Foreign Member of the US NAE Masayoshi Tomizuka, CAE Academician Chai Tianyou, former ACA Vice-President Li Shaoyuan, Member of Academia Europaea Han Qinglong, and Research Director at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) Abderrahmane Kheddar, among others.
