The 12th Big Data and Business Analytics International Summer School, hosted by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), was held from July 12 to 15.
Li Mingjiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the HIT Party Committee and director of the Organization Department, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. A total of 358 faculty members and students from 152 domestic and international universities and 17 industry organizations participated. Professor Guo Xitong from HIT's School of Economics and Management presided over the opening ceremony.

Li stated that HIT adheres to an open education principle and continuously builds high-level, international academic exchange platforms. Over years of development, the summer school on big data and business analytics has grown into a highly influential international study brand in the region. He expressed hope that the invited experts would share cutting-edge academic research and achievements, and encouraged students to seize this valuable opportunity to broaden their academic horizons and enhance their innovative capabilities.

Liang Liang, professor and former president of Hefei University of Technology, spoke on behalf of the visiting experts. He stated that all lecturing experts would uphold the principle of openness and sharing, engaging in in-depth exchanges on frontier research and meaningful experiences. He hopes that students will conduct research grounded in national strategies and industrial development needs, cultivating practical and professional skills informed by international perspectives.
This year's summer school aimed to pool global wisdom and build an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and cross-domain exchange platform for Chinese and international scholars and young students, helping to nurture young research talent with both academic depth and a global outlook. A total of 10 experts and scholars from domestic and international universities, including Boston University, the College of William and Mary, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Tsinghua University, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China, Guangdong Medical University and HIT, delivered specialized lectures in the fields of big data, artificial intelligence, and business analytics.
